A quiet energy balancing session at Jivan Parivartan in Kathmandu

30 Minutes. Panchabhuta. Grounded Reset.

5 Elements Balancing (Panchabhuta Healing) in Kathmandu

A short, calming 30-minute energy session that returns earth, water, fire, air and ether of the subtle body to a more even rhythm, in person at Jivan Parivartan in Tarkeshwor, with Maa Nisha Kabir or Swami Anish.

What is 5 Elements Balancing, and why does it matter?

5 Elements Balancing is a 30-minute energy session that uses the classical panchabhuta map (earth, water, fire, air and ether) to find the element that is out of rhythm in you right now and gently return it to balance, using breath, sound and visualisation. It is a short, grounding reset, not a long therapeutic process.

In Ayurveda and the yogic tradition, the five elements are the fundamental qualities that make up everything in the natural world, including the human body and mind. Earth (prithvi) is the quality of solidity, structure and groundedness. Water (jala) is the quality of flow, fluidity and feeling. Fire (tejas) is heat, digestion, metabolism and clarity of will. Air (vayu) is movement, breath and thought. Ether (akasha) is space, openness and the inner room in which everything else happens.

When the elements are roughly in proportion to your individual constitution, you feel like yourself. When one is excessive or deficient, life starts to feel off. Too much air shows up as scattered thinking, restlessness and poor sleep. Too little earth shows up as a sense of being ungrounded or unsupported. Too much fire shows up as irritability, heat and emotional reactivity. Each element has a fingerprint, and part of the session is identifying which fingerprint is on the current pattern.

The session does not require you to know any of this in advance. You arrive, describe what you are feeling in plain language, and the practitioner does the translation. The result is felt in the body, not in the head.

Where does this tradition come from?

The panchabhuta model is one of the oldest organising frameworks in Indian thought. It appears in the Samkhya philosophy, in Ayurveda (where it underlies the doshas of vata, pitta and kapha), and in the yogic and tantric traditions where the elements are linked to the lower chakras and to specific body regions, sense organs and emotional states.

At Jivan Parivartan we work in the Himalayan lineage in which Maa Nisha Kabir trained during her two-year cave retreat in the Nepalese Himalayas, and through more than a decade of continuous sadhana with teachers in Nepal and India. The protocol used in the session is a simple, practical adaptation of this older material, stripped of jargon. We do not teach the philosophy in the session itself. We use it as a map for the work, not as a class.

You can read more about how this work fits with our wider practice on the energy healing sessions hub and about Maa Nisha's path in the teachers and healers page.

What actually happens in a 30-minute session?

A 5 Elements Balancing session is a 30-minute, fully clothed, lying-down practice with no manipulation of the body. It uses short check-in, breath, a targeted element-balancing practice and a quiet integration. The flow is identical every time so it is easy to repeat as a weekly reset.

1

Short check-in

A few minutes to describe what you are feeling in plain language. The practitioner reads breath, posture and energy to identify the element that is out of rhythm.

2

Breath and grounding

A simple guided breath practice to settle the nervous system and bring attention into the body before the targeted element work begins.

3

Element balancing

Visualisation, soft sound (a bija mantra for the element if appropriate) and breath ratios chosen for the imbalanced element. No touch unless requested.

4

Quiet integration

A short closing rest in silence so the new state settles. Then a sip of water, a few minutes to reorient, and a brief aftercare note before you leave.

The session pairs well as a grounding seal after a longer Tibetan singing bowl session or after a Reiki healing session. Some clients book the two back to back on the same morning.

Who books 5 Elements Balancing, and when?

The session is for people who feel out of sync but do not want a long therapeutic process. It is most often used as a 30-minute reset between busy weeks, before a big decision, after travel, or as a regular weekly maintenance practice for clients with high-stress jobs.

Common reasons to book

  • Overthinking and a restless mind
  • Feeling scattered or ungrounded
  • Low energy or emotional heaviness
  • Sleep that has become light and broken
  • Seasonal transitions or jet lag
  • The threshold of a big decision or change

When this is not the right fit

  • Acute medical or psychiatric crisis (see a clinician first)
  • You want a deep, longer therapeutic session (book chakra alignment instead)
  • You expect this to replace medical care
  • You want hands-on bodywork (this is not a massage)

For deeper or longer work, consider a 60-minute chakra alignment session instead, or a One-Day Transformation Program if you have a full day available.

Maa Nisha Kabir

Reiki Master & Spiritual Healer

Maa Nisha Kabir founded Jivan Parivartan after a two-year silent retreat in the caves of the Nepalese Himalayas. Her path began at the age of fourteen and has been shaped by more than a decade of continuous sadhana, study with teachers in Nepal and India, and over six years of full-time professional healing work. As a Reiki Master and spiritual guide she has supported more than eight thousand individuals through one-to-one Reiki, sound healing, meditation and counselling, with a particular focus on chronic stress, anxiety and emotional trauma.

The energy-work modalities offered here are Maa Nisha's primary speciality. Her approach to 5 elements balancing is unhurried and practical: she reads what is out of rhythm in the body in front of her and works with that, rather than running a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Co-founder Swami Anish also offers 5 Elements Balancing when scheduling requires it, particularly for clients combining the session with sound healing or clinical hypnotherapy in the same visit.

5 Elements Balancing in Kathmandu: questions clients ask

The panchabhuta are the five subtle elements of the classical yogic and Ayurvedic model: earth (prithvi), water (jala), fire (tejas), air (vayu) and ether (akasha). Each corresponds to body systems and emotional states. Balancing them returns the constitution to its natural rhythm.
Most people describe it as a short, grounding rest. You lie down fully clothed and the practitioner uses breath, soft sound and visualisation to settle the imbalanced element. After 30 minutes you usually feel steadier, clearer and more present, without being heavy or sleepy.
Reiki works on the broader energy field and the nervous system. 5 elements balancing works on the deeper constitutional layer that yoga and Ayurveda call panchabhuta. Many clients combine both: a Reiki session for the field, a 5 elements session as a grounding seal.
The session is 30 minutes at our Tarkeshwor centre in Kathmandu and costs $30. Payment in EUR, USD or Nepalese rupees by cash, bank transfer or mobile wallet. No membership, no obligation to return, no upsell pricing.
People who feel scattered, restless, heavy, low on energy or simply out of step with their own life. Also common before a big decision or transition, after travel, and after intense work or emotional weeks. It is a short reset rather than a long therapeutic intervention.
Before: avoid a heavy meal in the two hours before, arrive a few minutes early and put your phone on silent. After: drink water, keep the day light if you can, take a short walk if possible and avoid screens for an hour or two so the settled state has time to stabilise.
For acute imbalance, often yes. A single session is enough to return most people to a more even state for a few days. For longer-standing patterns, a short series of three to five weekly sessions, or a session paired with Reiki, gives a more durable result.
