Usui Reiki Lineage. Three Levels. Certification.
Reiki Training and Certification in Kathmandu, Nepal
Learn Reiki from Maa Nisha Kabir, a Reiki Master with over twelve years of continuous sadhana and a two-year cave retreat in the Nepalese Himalayas. Progress step by step from Level 1 to Master Level, with attunements, hands-on practice and certification at each stage.
What is Reiki training, and what will you learn here?
Reiki training at Jivan Parivartan is a structured Usui-lineage course in three levels, taught in person in Kathmandu by a Reiki Master with twelve plus years of practice. You receive attunements, hand-position training, daily-practice methods, symbols, distance-healing protocols and certification.
Reiki itself is a Japanese system of gentle, hands-on energy healing developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. The word translates loosely as universal life force. The practice does not require belief, religion or particular faith. It works alongside (not instead of) medical care, and it is taught here without mysticism or jargon. We focus on what you can actually feel, what you can repeat at home, and what you can offer to others responsibly.
Our training begins with a one-to-one Reiki healing session with Maa Nisha (included with your first level enrolment) so that you experience the practice receptively before you learn to give it. That order matters. Students who have felt Reiki in their own body teach and treat with more clarity later.
The Three Levels
Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden, taught traditionally
Each level is a complete course in itself, with attunement, practice, manual and certificate. Most students move through them over months, not weeks, so that practice deepens before the next initiation.
Reiki Level 1 (Shoden)
2 days. $300.
The first initiation. Shoden means the entering teaching. The focus is self-healing and a daily practice you can carry into the rest of your life.
- • History of the Usui Reiki system
- • First attunement to Reiki energy
- • Hand positions for self-treatment
- • Treating friends and family informally
- • Energy sensing and grounding
- • Daily practice routine and Reiki principles
- • Level 1 certificate and printed manual
Best for personal healing, everyday wellbeing and a stable foundation before Level 2.
Reiki Level 2 (Okuden)
2 days. $300.
The inner teaching. Okuden introduces the three sacred symbols, mental and emotional healing, and distance work. This is where Reiki begins to look like a practitioner skillset.
- • Second-level attunement
- • Three Reiki symbols (power, mental and distance)
- • How and when to use each symbol
- • Distance healing for people not in the room
- • Mental and emotional balancing protocols
- • Ethics, consent and practitioner conduct
- • Level 2 certificate and practitioner manual
Best for working with clients, for energetic distance work, and for those moving into a healing-arts career.
Reiki Master (Shinpiden)
3 to 4 days. $350.
The mystery teaching. Shinpiden trains you to perform attunements, teach Level 1 and Level 2 students, and work with the master symbol. This is a teaching-level qualification, not just an advanced practitioner level.
- • Master-level attunement
- • The master symbol and its uses
- • Performing attunements on others
- • Teaching templates for Level 1 and Level 2
- • Advanced energy work and lineage ethics
- • Mentorship after the course completes
- • Reiki Master certificate and teaching pack
Best for serious practitioners ready to teach, attune and hold space for their own students.
What does a complete Reiki training actually cover?
A complete Reiki training covers four things: the history and ethics of the lineage, the attunements that open you to channel Reiki, the hand-position and symbol work that gives you a method, and the daily practice that integrates the work into your life. Everything else builds on those four pieces.
Lineage and ethics
You learn where the Usui system comes from, why it was structured in three levels, and how to hold yourself when working with clients. Boundaries, consent and scope of practice are taught directly, not assumed.
Attunements
Each level has its own attunement, a quiet ritual performed by the Reiki Master. You stay clothed and seated. The attunement opens the energetic channel and is the part of the training that cannot be replaced by reading.
Hand positions and symbols
Level 1 teaches the standard hand positions for self-healing and for treating others. Level 2 introduces the three traditional symbols and how to draw, use and combine them. Master Level adds the master symbol.
Distance healing and stress work
From Level 2 onward you learn to send Reiki at distance, and how to use it specifically for stress, anxiety, sleep and emotional reset. Stress-management Reiki and distance Reiki from Nepal are taught as practical sub-skills.
Daily practice
The five Reiki principles, a short morning self-treatment, a closing evening practice and the use of Reiki across the small frictions of daily life. Without this, the attunement quietly fades. With it, your work deepens year on year.
Client-session structure
Intake, room setup, opening, hand-position sequence, closing and follow-up. By the end of Level 2 you can run a clean, ethical, sixty-minute Reiki healing session for a paying client without needing to improvise.
What is included in every Reiki training at Jivan Parivartan?
Every Reiki level at Jivan Parivartan includes the attunement, in-person practice with a Reiki Master, a printed manual, a certificate on completion and ongoing mentorship after the course. Level 1 enrolment also includes a one-to-one Reiki healing session, so you receive Reiki before you learn to give it.
Pairing Reiki with singing bowl training gives you a complete energy-healer skillset: touch-based and sound-based, in-person and at distance.
Who is this Reiki training for, and who is it not for?
This training is for people who want a structured, ethical and traditional path into Reiki, taught in person by a working Reiki Master. It is not a weekend novelty, and it is not a substitute for medical care. We turn away applicants who treat Reiki as a quick certification or a marketing add-on.
✓This training is a good fit if
- • You want hands-on energy healing skills for yourself and your family
- • You work in a helping profession (therapist, nurse, bodyworker, coach) and want a calming adjunct
- • You are a yoga teacher or meditation guide looking to deepen the energetic side of your work
- • You are willing to practise daily after Level 1, not just collect certificates
- • You eventually want to teach Reiki yourself (Master Level)
×It is not the right fit if
- • You are looking for a one-day attunement and certificate
- • You expect Reiki to replace medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment
- • You want a non-traditional, blended or modernised Reiki style
- • You are currently in acute mental-health crisis and cannot commit to a daily practice
- • You expect to teach others after only Level 1 or Level 2

As a Reiki Master and spiritual guide she has supported more than eight thousand individuals through one-to-one Reiki, sound healing, meditation and counselling, with a particular focus on chronic stress, anxiety and emotional trauma.
Maa Nisha teaches Reiki from lived practice, not a textbook. Her approach is quiet, unhurried and grounded in the daily routine of the Himalayan tradition. Students consistently describe her sessions as calm, precise and deeply settling.
