Usui Reiki training in three levels
Reiki Training and Certification in Kathmandu, Nepal
Reiki Level 1, Level 2 and Master Level, taught in person at our centre in Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu. Maa Nisha Kabir teaches every level herself. She trained in Usui Reiki in 2017 and has taught it here since 2021, to more than 70 students. You receive a certificate at the end of each level.
What is Reiki training, and what will you learn here?
Reiki training at Jivan Parivartan is a course in Usui Reiki in three levels. Each level is two or four days at the centre, followed by daily practice at home. You receive an attunement at each level, learn the hand positions and later the symbols, practise under supervision, and leave with a certificate for that level.
Reiki is a Japanese hands-on practice that began with Mikao Usui in the 1920s. The practitioner rests their hands lightly on or just above the body, and the person receiving it stays fully clothed. No belief is needed. Students have come from many faiths and from none. Reiki is not medical treatment, and we teach it as something to use alongside your doctor's care.
Training days run 5 hours, with a vegetarian lunch break. Start dates are flexible and set on request. You can train in a small group, or one to one if you prefer. Some students book a Reiki healing session first, to receive Reiki before learning to give it. That is booked separately.
The Three Levels
Reiki levels compared: Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden
Each level is a course of its own, with its own attunement, manual and certificate. We teach one level per trip, with months of daily practice in between. Each level has its own page with the full syllabus, daily schedule and questions.
Reiki Level 1 (Shoden)
2 days, 10 hours. $250.
First Degree. You receive your first attunement and learn to give Reiki to yourself, then practise at home every day for 21 days.

Reiki Level 2 (Okuden)
2 days, 10 hours. $300.
Second Degree. You receive the symbols and learn distance practice, for people who are not in the room with you.

Reiki Master Level (Shinpiden)
4 days, 20 hours. $400.
Third Degree, the teaching level. The date is agreed after a conversation about your practice since Level 2.

What does Reiki training cover?
Every level has the same four parts: an attunement, the method for that level, practice under supervision, and a daily routine to keep up at home.
Attunement
Each level has its own attunement, given by Maa Nisha Kabir on the first full day. It takes about 15 minutes. You stay seated and fully clothed.
Hand positions and symbols
Level 1 teaches the hand positions for treating yourself and others. Level 2 adds the symbols and distance practice. Master Level adds the master symbol and how to give attunements.
Supervised practice
You give and receive Reiki at the centre while Maa Nisha watches and corrects. By the end of each level you know the routine well enough to keep it up alone.
Daily practice at home
After Level 1, two to three hours of self-practice a day for 21 days. After Level 2, two to three hours a day for three months. After Master Level, one to two hours a day. The five Reiki principles are part of every level.
What is included in every Reiki training at Jivan Parivartan?
The fee for each level covers the items below. Training is non-residential, so accommodation is not included.
If sound interests you as well, singing bowl training is a separate course with its own dates, taught by Swami Anish Ji.
Who is this Reiki training for?
Anyone who wants to learn Reiki and is ready to practise daily between levels. No special talent or sensitivity is needed. Students usually come for one of these reasons:
- • To give Reiki to themselves and their family
- • To add Reiki to work they already do, such as yoga teaching, bodywork or coaching
- • To work with clients after Level 2
- • To teach Reiki themselves after Master Level

Reiki training fees
Prices are in US dollars: Level 1 is $250, Level 2 is $300 and Master Level is $400. A 20% deposit by Wise transfer holds your place, and the balance is due on arrival in USD cash, Nepali rupees or by bank transfer.

Maa Nisha Kabir
Founder, Swamini & Lead Instructor
Maa Nisha Kabir founded Jivan Parivartan in 2021. She has more than twenty years of practice in Vipassana, Ashtanga Mahayoga, pranayama and silent meditation, including two years alone in a cave in Mustang.
She trained in Usui Reiki in 2017 and has taught it at the centre since 2021. She teaches every Reiki level herself, in English, Hindi or Nepali.
