What is sound massage?

Sound massage is a short singing bowl treatment for one area of the body. You stay fully clothed. The bowls are placed on you or close to you and played softly, and their vibration gives a slow, rhythmic massage effect that helps tight muscles relax.

It lasts about 15 minutes. Some guests book it on its own as a quick break. Others add it before or after a longer session at the centre. It is our shortest session, and the 60-minute singing bowl healing session is the full version.

What happens in a 15-minute sound massage

  1. 1

    Settle in

You sit or lie down, fully clothed, and tell us where you feel the tension most: neck, shoulders, chest or back.

  2. 2

Bowls on or near the body

Swami Anish Ji places singing bowls on or close to that area and strikes them softly. You feel the vibration move through the body in a steady rhythm.

  3. 3

    Close

A short pause at the end, then you get up and carry on with your day. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes.

Who sound massage is for

Tension in one area

Stiff shoulders, a tight neck or a sore back after a long flight or a trek.

Not much time

Fifteen minutes fits into a lunch break or a busy day in Kathmandu.

A first try of sound healing

A short way to find out how the bowls feel before booking a full hour.

An add-on to another session

Before or after a Reiki or sound healing session, when you want a little more.

Sound massage is for relaxation. It does not diagnose or treat illness and does not replace medical care.

Sound massage or a full singing bowl session?

Both use the same bowls. The difference is length and focus.
