Train to teach yoga at Jivan Parivartan, a holistic wellness and transformation centre in Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu, founded by Reiki Master Maa Nisha Kabir and clinical hypnotherapist and meditation teacher Swami Anish. Our 200-hour yoga teacher training program is taught in the classical Himalayan ashram tradition. The curriculum is led by Yogi Awdaitmani, a yoga master and yoga therapist with a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Anna University in Chennai, supported by Maa Nisha and Swami Anish for the meditation, pranayama, philosophy and energy-work components.

The 200-hour course is a 24-day residential intensive. It is your foundation: everything you need to teach intelligent, safe yoga classes anywhere in the world. It runs in small groups (typically four to twelve students) and ends with internationally recognised certification that lets you register and teach worldwide.

What you will not get here is fitness yoga. The Himalayan tradition is not flow-based; it is alignment-based, breath-based and philosophy-based. The 200-hour curriculum at Jivan Parivartan includes Ashtanga Mahayoga foundations, classical Hatha yoga, foundational pranayama (breath techniques), mudra meditation, multiple meditation methods, the history and philosophy of yoga (anchored in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita), yoga anatomy, teaching methodology and class sequencing. Over the course you will learn more than 100 traditional asanas, properly: how to enter, hold, refine, and modify them for real students with real bodies.

A typical day follows a disciplined rhythm: an early morning meditation and pranayama session (the body is more available before the mind has had time to construct its day), a morning asana practice, breakfast, mid-morning theory (philosophy, anatomy, methodology), lunch, afternoon rest or self-study, a longer afternoon asana practice, evening sound healing or meditation, simple dinner, reflective journaling, and early sleep. Sundays are lighter, with optional cultural visits in the valley.

The training comes in three tiers: standard with shared accommodation, a private-room upgrade, and an early-bird rate when you book more than ninety days in advance. All tiers include tuition, course materials, attunements where relevant, certification, full board with three sattvic vegetarian meals a day, and accommodation throughout the residential program. Airport pickup is available on request. Flights and visa (Nepal offers visa on arrival for most nationalities) are not included. The 200-hour residential training is USD 1,200; ask about early-bird discounts and intake dates.

Who comes to Jivan Parivartan for teacher training? Mostly people who have already done some yoga, want depth more than flow, and are willing to live simply for around a month (no alcohol, no meat, modest dress, an early start). Many of our students are early-career yoga teachers from the West who want their first proper training in Asia, and a meaningful number are mid-career professionals (lawyers, doctors, engineers, designers) using a sabbatical to reset their relationship with practice.

What you will leave with: an internationally recognised 200-hour certificate, the ability to design and teach safe and intelligent classes for general and special populations, a stable personal practice in asana, pranayama and meditation, a working understanding of yoga philosophy and anatomy, and (this is the part most graduates report most) a felt sense of the Himalayan tradition that you can carry into your teaching and your life. Many graduates come back for Reiki and singing bowl training to deepen as full multi-modality teachers.

The fastest way to find out whether a training here is right for you is to talk to us. WhatsApp +977 9818514837 or email info@jivanparivartan.com. Tell us a little about your practice background, what you are looking for from training, and what dates work; we will guide you to the right intake. We do not run rolling start dates: we hold three to four 200-hour intakes per year, in small groups, so booking ahead matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nepal combines authentic Himalayan lineage with intimate group sizes and real affordability. A residential teacher training here costs a fraction of an equivalent course in Europe or North America, and because Nepal is quieter and less commercial than the largest Indian training hubs, you get more personal attention and a stronger emphasis on meditation, breath and philosophy alongside asana. When you compare schools, look past the marketing to the substance: who actually teaches, what the days contain, and how much real practice and feedback you will get. At Jivan Parivartan we keep intakes to four to twelve students and teach in the classical Himalayan ashram tradition.
Yes. On completion of the 200-hour training you receive a certificate from Jivan Parivartan documenting your training hours and competencies in the classical Himalayan tradition. Graduates use it to teach internationally, and many studios and insurers accept it directly. Bring your certificate when you apply for studio work; we are happy to confirm your hours and curriculum on request.
The 200-hour residential training is USD 1,200. The fee covers tuition, course materials and books, certification, three sattvic vegetarian meals a day, and accommodation throughout the residential program (shared or private depending on tier). Attunements are included for any energy-work component. The fee does not cover international flights, Nepal visa (visa on arrival for most nationalities, around USD 30 to 50 for the typical stay), travel insurance, personal items, or optional excursions on rest days. Airport pickup from Tribhuvan International is available on request.
Early start. Around 6:00 AM meditation and pranayama, then morning asana practice. Breakfast around 8:30. Mid-morning theory (philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology). Lunch. Quiet afternoon rest and self-study window. A longer afternoon asana practice, with pranayama practicum later in the course. Evening sound healing or meditation. Simple early dinner. Reflective journaling. Early sleep. Sundays are lighter, with optional cultural visits (Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath are all close).
Yogi Awdaitmani leads the asana, anatomy and yoga therapy work. He holds a B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Anna University in Chennai and has trained for years under teachers in ashrams across Nepal and India. Maa Nisha Kabir leads the meditation, pranayama, mantra and energy-work components; she is a Reiki Master with twelve-plus years of sadhana and two years of cave retreat. Swami Anish leads the philosophy, hypnotherapy-informed integration work, and sound healing. Group size is typically four to twelve students per intake; we do not exceed twelve.
Yes. Our centre is fully sattvic vegetarian throughout the training, in line with classical practice (and most students find the food clarifies their practice within the first few days). If you have specific medical or dietary needs (gluten-free, dairy-free, allergies, low FODMAP, blood-sugar conditions) tell us when you book and we will adapt. Off-campus on rest days you can of course eat as you wish; we just keep the centre kitchen sattvic so the energetic conditions of practice are consistent.
Send us a message (WhatsApp +977 9818514837 or info@jivanparivartan.com) with your preferred intake dates, accommodation preference, and a short paragraph on your practice background. We will reply with intake confirmation and a deposit invoice to hold your place. The balance is due 30 days before the start date. Deposits are refundable up to 60 days before the start; from 60 to 30 days they can be transferred to a future intake; closer than 30 days, please contact us for case-by-case handling.
