Best Time for Yoga in Nepal
The best time for yoga in Nepal is autumn (October to early December) and spring (March to May), when the skies are clear, the mountain views are at their best and temperatures are comfortable. But every season has its own gift, and our centre runs year-round.

When is the best time to come to Nepal for yoga?
For most visitors the answer is autumn or spring. Autumn, from October to early December, follows the monsoon, so the air is washed clean, the Himalayan views are spectacular and the days are dry and mild. Spring, from March to May, is warm and bright, with rhododendrons in bloom across the hills. These are also the prime trekking seasons, and the windows when our Himalayan and Mustang retreats run, so they are ideal if you want to combine yoga with time in the mountains.
That said, Nepal is a year-round destination for indoor practice, healing and meditation. Our yoga and wellness retreats, teacher training, Reiki, sound healing and meditation continue through every season, and the quieter monsoon and winter months have a calm, uncrowded charm of their own.

Season by season
Autumn (Oct – early Dec)
The classic time to visit. Post-monsoon air gives the clearest mountain views of the year, days are dry and pleasant, and the festival season (Dashain and Tihar) brings the valley to life.
Winter (Dec – Feb)
Cold in the mornings and evenings, but often crisp, sunny and clear in the valley by day. Crowds are thin and prices low. Ideal for focused indoor practice, Reiki, sound healing and meditation.
Spring (Mar – May)
Warm and colourful, with rhododendron forests in bloom. Excellent for retreats and trekking, with occasional pre-monsoon showers later in the period.
Monsoon (Jun – Aug)
Lush and green, with rain usually falling in afternoon bursts rather than all day. The valley is quiet and unhurried, which many meditators and healing guests prefer.
A note on mountain views and air
The clearest Himalayan views, and the freshest valley air, come right after the monsoon in October and November. Late winter can be hazier in the dry valley. If clear mountain views matter to you, autumn is the surest bet, and a mountain retreat is always a good way to find clean, open air.
