60 Minutes. Seven Centres. Targeted Energy Work.
Chakra Alignment in Kathmandu, Nepal
A 60-minute energy session that works systematically through the seven main centres, from root (muladhara) to crown (sahasrara), combining Reiki, breath, soft bija mantras and visualisation, at Jivan Parivartan in Tarkeshwor with Maa Nisha Kabir or Swami Anish.
What is chakra alignment, and what does it actually do?
Chakra alignment is a 60-minute energy session that works systematically through the seven main energy centres of the classical yogic and tantric body map, using a combination of Reiki, breath, soft bija mantras and visualisation, to clear congestion and re-establish even flow from root to crown.
The word chakra means wheel in Sanskrit. In the classical model, each chakra is a centre of subtle activity along the spinal axis, and each centre is associated with a region of the body, an emotional theme, a colour, a seed-syllable (bija mantra) and a particular kind of life energy. The teaching is that when one centre is blocked or excessive, the whole system feels off, and life tends to get stuck in the theme that centre governs.
In a session, the practitioner does not push energy or force anything to move. The approach is closer to a careful gardener than a mechanic. Time is given to each centre. The bija mantra associated with a particular chakra is offered softly or silently, breath is matched to the rhythm of the centre, and Reiki is held lightly over or near the body. Most clients drift into a deep parasympathetic rest within the first ten or fifteen minutes.
We are careful to treat the chakra model as a useful map of human experience, not as a literal medical fact. The benefit of a session is not in subscribing to a theory. It is in the practical effects: a quieter mind, slower breath, deeper sleep that night, and often a sense of resolution around the specific theme that brought you in.
The seven main centres and what each one governs
The classical yogic map names seven main centres along the spinal axis. Each one is associated with a region of the body and a recurring theme in human life. The session does not treat this list as a checklist. It uses it to locate where the current pattern is sitting.
Root (muladhara)
Base of the spine.
Groundedness, safety, basic security.
Sacral (svadhisthana)
Lower belly.
Creativity, sensuality, flow.
Solar plexus (manipura)
Upper belly.
Confidence, will, healthy boundaries.
Heart (anahata)
Centre of the chest.
Grief, love, connection.
Throat (vishuddha)
Base of the neck.
Expression, truth, voice.
Third eye (ajna)
Between the eyebrows.
Clarity, intuition, perspective.
Crown (sahasrara)
Top of the head.
Connection with larger meaning.
Whole-system integration
All centres.
Even flow from root to crown.
The tradition we work in is the Himalayan lineage that Maa Nisha Kabir trained in during her two-year cave retreat and through more than twelve years of continuous sadhana. The session is not a Sanskrit lecture. Read more on the healing sessions hub about how this work fits with our wider practice.
What happens during a 60-minute chakra alignment session?
A chakra alignment session at Jivan Parivartan follows a clear five-stage flow: a short intake conversation, a slow opening body scan, work through the seven centres from root to crown, a closing integration and aftercare. The total time in the room is approximately 75 minutes including intake.
Intake conversation (5 to 10 minutes)
You describe what you are working with in plain language. The practitioner asks a few questions to identify the centre or centres that are most likely to need attention. No spiritual vocabulary required.
Opening body scan (5 minutes)
You lie fully clothed on the treatment couch. The practitioner moves attention slowly through the body, reading breath, posture and energy. This is where the work plan for the session takes its final shape.
Centre-by-centre work (35 to 40 minutes)
The practitioner moves through the seven main centres from root to crown, spending more time on the ones that need it. Reiki, soft bija mantras, breath ratios and visualisation are layered as appropriate.
Closing integration (5 to 10 minutes)
The new state is given time to settle. Most clients are in a deep parasympathetic rest by this point. A short closing seal returns attention to the whole body.
Aftercare conversation (5 minutes)
A sip of water and a brief grounding conversation. We share aftercare notes (light food, hydration, screen-free hour, gentle walk) so the settled state has time to stabilise.
Chakra alignment pairs particularly well with a Tibetan singing bowl sound healing session in the same week. Bowls placed on and around the body support the work that the session opens. For students of Reiki training in Kathmandu, receiving a chakra alignment is also a useful teaching session, since the protocol draws on Level 2 Reiki technique.
Who books a chakra alignment, and what brings them in?
Most clients arrive with a specific theme that has felt stuck for weeks or months. Different themes tend to correspond, loosely, to different centres in the classical map. None of this is diagnostic. It is simply what people report.
Lack of groundedness, financial anxiety, safety questions
Often tied to the root centre work.
Creative block, low sensuality, low joy
Often tied to the sacral centre work.
Low confidence, weak boundaries, low willpower
Often tied to the solar plexus work.
Grief, heartbreak, difficulty letting people in
Often tied to the heart centre work.
Difficulty speaking up, holding the truth back, sore throat patterns
Often tied to the throat centre work.
Mental fog, decision paralysis, lack of perspective
Often tied to the third eye work.
A sense of disconnection from larger meaning
Often tied to the crown centre work.
General system reset after illness or a hard year
Whole-system integration session.
If you are not sure which centre is at the root of what you are working with, that is fine. Most people are not, and the practitioner does the mapping during intake. For a shorter, more general reset, see 5 Elements Balancing. For a take-home daily practice, see mantra-mudra-yantra healing.

Maa Nisha Kabir
Reiki Master & Spiritual Healer
Maa Nisha Kabir founded Jivan Parivartan after a two-year silent retreat in the caves of the Nepalese Himalayas. Her path began at the age of fourteen and has been shaped by more than a decade of continuous sadhana, study with teachers in Nepal and India, and over six years of full-time professional healing work. As a Reiki Master and spiritual guide she has supported more than eight thousand individuals through one-to-one Reiki, sound healing, meditation and counselling, with a particular focus on chronic stress, anxiety and emotional trauma.
Chakra alignment is among Maa Nisha's most-booked sessions. Her approach is unhurried and grounded in the daily rhythm of the Himalayan tradition. She treats the chakra map as a working tool rather than a belief system, and most clients describe her sessions as calm, precise and deeply settling.
Co-founder Swami Anish also offers chakra alignment, particularly for clients combining the session with a Tibetan singing bowl sound healing session in the same morning.
