What is a yogic detox retreat?

In the yogic tradition, detox is not a fad cleanse but a set of time-tested practices, the shatkarmas (cleansing techniques), pranayama, gentle asana and a light, pure diet, that support the body’s own ability to release what it does not need. The aim is to feel clearer and lighter, in body and mind, rather than to chase a quick fix.

Our detox retreat keeps this gentle and grounded. We avoid extreme fasting or anything harsh; instead we use simple sattvic food, breathwork, supported cleansing practices and rest, guided by experienced teachers.

No extreme fasting. We use a light, fresh sattvic vegetarian diet and herbal teas rather than harsh fasting, which is gentler and more sustainable. If you wish to explore lighter eating, we guide it carefully and safely. The focus is on supporting the body, not depriving it.
We introduce traditional yogic cleansing techniques known as shatkarma, such as simple breath-based and water-based practices, always gently and at your own pace under guidance. You are never required to do anything you are uncomfortable with, and everything is adapted to your health.
It is gentle and suitable for most healthy adults, but please tell us about any medical conditions, pregnancy or medication before booking so we can adapt. Yogic detox complements medical care rather than replacing it, and we do not advise it as a treatment for any medical condition.
Most people leave feeling lighter, clearer and more energised, with better digestion and sleep and a renewed sense of what their body needs. The aim is also to send you home with simple habits you can keep, not just a few good days.
